I recently received word that I was going to be able to review Mark Batterson’s newest book, Wild Goose Chase, before it’s release date. Today, August 19, it released. Here is what I think:
The book gives wonderful incite into having a true relationship with God. In a relationship you need some adventure. If you don’t experience adventure you have the opportunity to become stale.
The same goes for your relationship with Christ.
Wild Goose Chase helps you to discover how you can begin to chase after God’s desires for your life, instead of routinely serving him.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the book. (more to come later, it’s that good)
“I wonder if churches do to people what zoos do to animals.”
“We have a primal longing to be uncaged. And the cage opens when we recognize that Jesus didn’t die on the cross to keep us safe. Jesus died to make us dangerous.”
“You cannot simultaneously live by faith and be bored.”
“…pursuing a God-ordained passon, no matter how crazy it seems, is the most responsible thing you can do.”
Those are just a few gems from the book.
You can pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble or many other bookstores. You also have a chance to win a free copy. Download Mark’s 10 Steps to Setting Life Goals as well.
