Then it reminded me of how I changed my life and threw away the junk in my life to follow Christ.

Then I began thinking of my life/walk with Christ now. How I still need to remove some junk in my life to follow Him even more.

As I cleaned the apartment I began looking at the items I threw away. Junk mail, empty bottles of body wash, and dated food products. So I thought of the small things I needed to remove from my everyday life that hinder my walk with Christ. Such as: the massive amount of time vegging watching TV, loitering on the internet, and neglecting time with Christ. Consider all those items reduced (in the trash) from now on.

Until the next cleaning.

Other thoughts while cleaning: Is the Christ you are displaying for the world to see, the Christ of the Bible?

I will be performing the wedding as one of the ministers, which will be my third wedding to minister. This one is pretty special because I am able to marry two people I am very close with and are family. Congratulations Katie and Brett. I love you two very much.

I was seated. I ate my bread and drank my juice, after a few moments of contemplation between me and my Father. Then as I began thinking of the sacrifice Christ made for me, I peered to my left and noticed an older man praising his God, one arm stretched high and the other on his heart.

He was belting “Yahweh, Yahweh.”

I was so touched by this moment. I assume his age had something to do with it, but I was amazed that this man, albeit he was older, was praising his God like the first time he understood Christ died on the cross for his sins.

I love seeing a love, like the one between a person and God, last through struggles and hardships.

This may be a crazy observation, but in the two years I have worked at the church, I do not remember one time someone telling me they thought we had a nice facility. But in the past week I had four different people tell me they thought we had a great facility and building. All of which happened, perhaps coincidentally, the week we change to a new name.

It has been some week in the new chapter that is LifePoint Church.

We officially presented the new name of our church to the people. The change was from First Baptist Church of Smyrna to LifePoint Church.

It’s a site focused to helping people discover why they should be “second”—and Christ first.

The site uses some celebrities (Jason Castro, Joe Gibbs, Stephen Baldwin) and everyday people to tell their story. They use video very well to tell their stories and explain certain issues. They also leverage a clean simple website.

Now I actually have proof that he has met Tony.

My boss is the first guy who introduces himself, Jason Stewart. I think it is hilarious that Tony says let’s start with you, instead of actually saying Jason’s name.

I am happy Jason gets to learn from someone like Tony, because I hope it allows Smyrna to fall in love with God through the strategies Jason learn.
